Blogs in the classroom for class Sept 21st

I missed class because of a funeral, so I looked up the UEN website and looked over it. I also asked another student what we were supposed to blog about.
Anyway, the ways I think I would use blogs in the classroom is for my students to use as journals. Sometimes the best way for us to remember what we have learned is by reflecting, and writing in a journal is a great way to reflect. I would make these blogs available to their parents as well, so that they can see what their child is doing in the classroom everyday and what they are learning. Blogs can also be used to keep the parents posted from my point of view as the teacher as well. I feel a great use of blogs would be between teachers, sharing ideas, etc.
There are many uses for blogs in the classroom and out. It is just very important for us as teachers to use technology in the classroom so we can maximize time and learning.

YETC Resources

Honestly, I feel that I am a little behind in some of this technology stuff, being a little older than most of the students here. When I was younger and single, none of these things were available. I am trying to learn though, so that I can be a better teacher. I really feel that we have so many great resources now, and it makes me excited what I have to help me in the classroom. I guess the biggest thing I learned today is how important it is to keep up with the technology so that I can use those resources in my classroom. I could see myself using all of the resources we talked about in the classroom. The readability formula's would be great to make sure you have the right level books for the classroom. Also, I would love to use the www.storylineonline.net to help with whole class reading and being able to use the suggested activities to enhance the reading experience. I already had been using the internet to help me find resources for my education, so it doesn't surprise me the amount of resources we have. I just wasn't aware of the ones that were showed us today. I feel all of these resources will be extremely beneficial to me as a teacher in the classroom.

Well this is my very first blog. Between going to school, taking care of my kiddos and keeping a husband happy, I have not had very much time for blogging. I barely have time to check my email.
