Camera shape activity

I like the idea of using cameras to take pictures of shapes. In fact in my curriculum for k-3 class, we have recommended this strategy for geometric and math activities in the past. I feel that using cameras to help children connect their learning to real world concepts is a very good way to teach a concept. It is important for all learners to connect their learning in some way to the world around them, especially if you want them to remember what they learned. Some shapes were easier to find than others, we were trying to find an octagon and a hexagon, however, because it was cold, and the only road signs we knew of were a little far off, we had a hard time finding these shapes in the building. So we changed the shapes we were looking for. Anyway, this activity is a great idea for a lesson plan on shapes.
